How our training works

Small groups

Between four and ten people, depending on the program. Everybody gets time at the controls.

Your own data

Bring an anonymized dataset and we work on that. If you cannot, we supply prepared teaching cases.

Dates agreed after booking

We contact you within two working days to schedule. No fixed calendar, no session you cannot attend.

Certificate and recording

Attendance certificates for everyone, and a recording of the online sessions to refer back to.

Vea Foundations

From a DICOM series to a model you can actually explore.

A working introduction, not a product demonstration. By the end of the session you have taken a cardiovascular dataset from import to a three-dimensional reconstruction you can navigate, annotate and show to a colleague — and you know which datasets will give you trouble before you waste an afternoon on them.

Who it is for. Clinicians, imaging specialists and researchers meeting the platform for the first time.

What we work through

  • What makes a CT, MR or 3D echo series suitable for reconstruction — slice thickness, contrast timing, gating, and the compromises you can live with
  • Import and reconstruction: from a DICOM series to an explorable model
  • Navigating the scene — clipping planes, thresholds, isolating structures, saving and restoring views
  • Keeping the reconstruction anchored to the source slices, so what you see in 3D can always be traced back to the original image
  • Capturing views and recordings for a case discussion or a lecture

What is included

  • Four hours live with an instructor, in a group of no more than six

Cardiovascular 3D & Measurement

Measurements you can defend, repeated the same way across a cohort.

The full day is about reproducibility. Anyone can drop a caliper on a reconstruction; the difficulty is defining a measurement so that the same structure, measured next month by a different person, gives the same number. We work through diameters, distances and areas in both 2D and 3D, then build a written protocol you can apply to a whole retrospective series.

Who it is for. Imaging specialists, interventional cardiologists and research fellows who will be producing measurements others rely on.

What we work through

  • Where a measurement is actually defined — the plane, the landmark and the assumptions hiding inside a single number
  • Diameters, distances and areas across 2D views and the 3D scene, and when the two legitimately disagree
  • Annulus and landing-zone assessment as a research workflow
  • Virtual positioning of a device inside patient-specific anatomy, treated strictly as a spatial and educational exercise
  • Writing a measurement protocol: naming, versioning, who repeats what, and how disagreement is resolved
  • Structuring exports so a study cohort stays analyzable a year later

  • Seven hours live, in a group of no more than five
  • A session on your own anonymized dataset, if you bring one
  • A measurement protocol template you can adapt for a study

Immersive VR Masterclass

Congenital and structural anatomy, at the scale it deserves.

We bring the headsets and set them up in your department. The day is built around anatomy that resists two-dimensional review: transposition and its repairs, univentricular circulations, baffles and conduits, anomalous coronary courses, post-surgical geometry that no longer matches any textbook diagram. You look at these cases in VR, together, and you keep the workflow afterwards.

Who it is for. Congenital heart teams, structural heart teams and anyone who has spent an afternoon arguing about a spatial relationship in front of a flat screen.

What we work through

  • Why unusual spatial relationships survive so many careful readings of a stack
  • Preparing a congenital or post-surgical case for immersive review
  • Working in VR: scale, orientation, moving around a structure, and pointing at it while a colleague is looking at the same thing
  • Case-based work on your own anonymized material, or on the supplied teaching library if you would rather not prepare data in advance
  • Bringing an immersive review into a case conference or a teaching round without making it a production

Department Training Program

Two days that leave a department able to work without us.

The single-seat courses train an individual. This one trains a department, including the part nobody enjoys: how imaging data actually reaches the platform in your building, who prepares a case before a meeting, and what happens when the person who knows how to do it is on holiday. We work with your own material for most of the second day.

Who it is for. Cardiac surgery, interventional cardiology, congenital heart and cardiovascular imaging departments adopting spatial review as a habit rather than an experiment.

What we work through

  • Day one — data preparation, reconstruction, spatial review and measurement, worked through by every participant
  • Day one — what your existing acquisitions already support, and what would have to change in a protocol to support more
  • Day two — immersive review of your own cases, in small groups
  • Day two — where the platform sits in your imaging workflow, including access to datasets from a compatible PACS environment where that applies
  • Day two — teaching use: building a case library your trainees can be handed
  • Closing session — who owns what, and the routine that keeps it alive

What is included

  • Two consecutive days on site, for up to ten participants
  • VR equipment brought, configured and taken away by us
  • A written workflow note for your department after the visit
  • Sixty days of follow-up questions by email
  • Certificates of attendance for all participants

Academic Program

Semester-length teaching support for universities and research groups.

Recurring teaching does not fit a one-off workshop. We build the program around your curriculum: cohort sessions through a semester, onboarding for a research group, a case library aligned with what you teach, and someone to call when a student breaks something the evening before a seminar. Scope, cohort size and duration decide the price, so this one is quoted rather than listed.

Who it is for. Universities, medical schools and research groups teaching cardiovascular anatomy or running imaging research with students.

  • Curriculum-aligned session plan across a semester
  • Onboarding for teaching staff and demonstrators

Before you book

The practical questions, answered

When does the session actually happen?

Booking reserves the program, not a specific date. We write to you within two working days of the order to agree a date that works for your department. Online sessions usually run within three to four weeks; on-site programs depend on travel and are typically arranged four to eight weeks out.

What if we need to move the date?

Rescheduling more than fourteen days before an agreed date costs nothing. Inside fourteen days we will always try to accommodate a change, but for on-site programs travel that has already been booked may be charged at cost. The full position is in the terms.

Do we need to install anything first?

Not for the online programs — you work in a prepared environment during the session. For on-site programs we bring what is needed, including VR equipment. If you want the platform running on your own workstations afterwards, tell us and we will check the specifications before the session rather than after it.

Can we bring patient data?

Bring anonymized datasets only, and only if your institution's rules allow it. We do not ask for, and do not want, identifiable patient information. If pseudonymized material cannot leave your network, on-site programs are the better choice because the data never moves.

Who invoices us, and can we pay against a purchase order?

Card payment at checkout is the fastest route and produces documentation for your finance department immediately. If your institution requires an invoice against a purchase order, or a bank transfer, write to us and we will arrange it that way instead.

We need more seats than the maximum. What then?

The Department Training Program covers up to ten participants over two days. Beyond that, or for a recurring teaching commitment, the Academic Program is the right shape — tell us the cohort size and we will put a proposal together.
